I've encouraged my patients to adopt video calling where possible, due to visitors being stopped at this point. Of course, this relies on family/next of kin having the right technology their end. Having video meetings with colleagues - or external bodies/professionals involved in an individual's care - is also a counter to the necessary restrictions imposed on the physical/institutional/social environment. However, long term, I feel the reduced quality of connection and engagement may impact on the mental health and well-being - of both clinicians and services users.1
