María N. Gómez Lacalle

Occupational Therapist María earned her degree in Occupational Therapy from Brunel University (London) in 2007.

María has 18 years of experience and specialises in patient dignity, adaptive techniques and assistive technologies. She is an expert in manual handling, single-handed care solutions and risk assessment.

• Passionate about educating healthcare teams and caregivers, through innovative workshops, both in-person and online.

• Masters in Artificial Intelligence - Focused on integrating AI-driven solutions in healthcare training and course development.

• Fluent in Spanish and English; intermediate in Italian.

As the founder and CEO of Healthy and Independent Ltd and the Institute of Postural Hygiene, María has dedicated her career to advancing the field of occupational therapy. She is also the author of  'A Dignified Approach to Moving and Handling People: As a Pathway to Empowerment'. This work embodies her commitment to enhancing the dignity and empowerment of both patients and healthcare professionals.

Currently, María operates between the UK and Spain, with a vision to expand her courses to other Spanish-speaking countries.
